Connecting Max

In ParrotPoster you can connect a Max channel or group in two ways:

1. Use the ParrotPoster bot — add our bot to the channel as an administrator and enter the channel/group link or ID.
2. Use your own bot — create a bot in the Max partner portal, pass moderation, connect it to the channel; in the service you enter the token and pick the channel from the list.

Option 1: ParrotPoster bot

Add the bot to the channel

1. Start a chat with the ParrotPoster bot so it appears in your Max contacts.
2. Add the ParrotPoster bot to your channel: first as a member, then grant administrator rights.

Connect the channel in the service

1. Copy your channel link or ID and paste it into the “Paste channel/group link or ID” field in the Max connection dialog.
2. Click Connect. The channel should appear in your accounts list; you can then publish posts. If not, double-check the steps above and try again.

Option 2: Your own bot

Creating a bot

1. Open the Max partner portal and register as a legal entity if you have not already.
2. When the dashboard is ready, click Add bot (you can open this link directly).
3. Fill in the bot details: name, phone, website link, description, and logo.
4. Click Create. After moderation, the bot will be ready to use.

Adding the channel and token

1. Start a chat with your bot so it appears in contacts: copy the bot ID (nickname), search for it in Max — the bot should show up in results.
2. Open the channel and add your bot as a member first, then make it an administrator.
3. On the bot page, under Integration, click Get token. Copy the token and paste it into “Paste your bot token”.
4. After pasting the token, the list of channels/groups where the bot is connected loads automatically. Select the right entry. If the list is empty, ensure the bot is in the channel and the token is correct, then paste the token again.

Connecting in ParrotPoster

1. In the service, open Accounts and click Connect for the Max messenger.
2. In the dialog, under “Choose connection method”, select Use ParrotPoster bot or Use your own bot.
3. For the ParrotPoster bot, enter the channel/group link or ID and click Connect.
4. For your own bot, paste the token (spaces may be removed), wait for the channel list, select the channel, and click Connect.
